About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Merchandising Strategy and Growth to play a pivotal role in setting the vision and strategy for business development and merchandising. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining oversight of the merchandising function, identifying and evaluating new business opportunities, and leading the strategic planning process to drive sales, increase profit, and expand market share. This role requires a seasoned leader with a strong background in strategic merchandising, business development, and a deep understanding of consumer behavior. The VP will also be instrumental in shaping and accelerating strategic partnerships, with a focus on capturing incremental value and driving sales growth. Candidates for the Vice President position should have a minimum of 15 years' of relevant work experience, with at least 10 years' in a strategic capacity. An MBA or postgraduate degree is essential. The role demands a strategic leader with a proven track record of success, high financial acumen, and the ability to inspire and lead a diverse team. The VP will be expected to have a holistic understanding of category and growth trends, and consumer behavior, and to be adept at both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. Strong collaboration, communication, and influencing skills are a must, as is the ability to work in a dynamic environment and manage multiple strategic projects. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to operational excellence, with a relentless pursuit of excellence and a commitment to continual learning.
