We are looking for a dedicated Staff Property Accountant to join our team in Bingham Farms, Michigan. This role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting and managing property-related accounting tasks with a focus on precision and efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to their work.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and reports for assigned properties.
• Perform general ledger reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial entries.
• Manage month-end close processes, including accruals and adjustments.
• Conduct detailed account reconciliations to maintain financial integrity.
• Utilize Yardi software to handle property accounting tasks efficiently.
• Collaborate with property managers and other departments to address financial inquiries.
• Monitor and analyze property expenses to ensure compliance with budgets.
• Assist in audits and provide necessary documentation to support financial reviews.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data.
• Maintain organized records to support compliance and reporting requirements.• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in property accounting.
• Proficiency in managing month-end close processes and reconciliations.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting principles.
• Experience using Yardi or similar property management software.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
