About the Role
The Company is seeking a Senior Counsel to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be a highly driven and experienced generalist lawyer with a focus on providing legal advice and support in various areas, including cannabis law, compliance, advertising and marketing, technology, software and vendor agreements, privacy, and general corporate matters. This role is pivotal in leading the legal team, identifying and managing legal risks, and developing strategies to mitigate those risks. The Senior Counsel will also be responsible for a wide range of legal tasks, from reviewing and negotiating agreements to advising on intellectual property, data privacy, and cybersecurity issues. Applicants for the Senior Counsel position at the company should have a minimum of 8 years' of legal experience, with a preference for those with a background in cannabis regulatory and advertising. A strong understanding of regulated industries and e-commerce marketplaces is essential. The role requires a candidate with a JD from an accredited law school, an active state bar, and at least 3 years' of experience in leading a legal team, preferably in an e-commerce or cannabis business. The ideal candidate will be a practical problem-solver, have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and be adept at fostering positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. In-house experience at a high-growth tech or cannabis company is a plus, and the role demands a hands-on approach with a deep interest in the cannabis and tech space.
