Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School-Based Counselor to join our team. This role is responsible for providing both individual and group school counseling sessions to students, to identify issues affecting school performance, address social or behavioral problems, assess students abilities and interests, and develop the skills needed for academic success. The ideal candidate is a strong leader and collaborator who advocates for student well-being and works to promote success for all learners.Salary Range: $25.00-$30.00 per hourKey ResponsibilitiesProvide individual and group school counseling focused on academic, social-emotional, and career-related developmentDevelop and implement programming for students of varied age and grade levelsSupport students with transition planning and future goal planningMonitor student progress and provide guidance on improving academic, social, and emotional performanceCoordinate with teachers, staff, and families to address student needsMaintain detailed and accurate student recordsParticipate in regular meetings with other team membersLead student group activities focused on social-emotional learningDeliver professional development training to staff on social-emotional learning, overcoming student challenges, and student interest/abilityEngage in classroom observations to gain insight into academic, social, and emotional strengths and weaknesses of each studentOther duties as assignedRequired Skills and QualificationsMasters Degree in School Counseling, Social Work, or School PsychologyValid Pennsylvania School Counseling or School Psychologist Certification, or valid LCSWValid clearances, as required by Pennsylvania Department of EducationExcellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team membersStrong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issuesProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) Preferred Skills and QualificationsExperience working in an educational settingMinimum two years of experience in school counselingStrong organizational and time management skillsWorking Conditions30 to 40 hours per week during the typical school calendar year, August through June (hours may vary based on candidate qualifications, client caseload, and company needs)Office-based rolePay commensurate with experience and qualifications, negotiable
