Accounts Payable Accountant

Location: Remote (Preferred: DC / Northern Virginia area)
Duration: Approx. 6 weeks (possibility of extension or hire)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay: $22–$28/hour (based on experience)

About the Role

MMG is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Accountant to support one of our key government-contracting clients. In this role, you’ll help ensure the timely and accurate processing of invoices, employee expense reports, and vendor payments — keeping operations running smoothly while maintaining compliance with federal and internal standards.

This is a full-time, remote assignment with a quick start and potential for extension or permanent hire. Ideal for professionals who are detail-driven, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced accounting environment.

What You’ll Do

• Process vendor, subcontractor, and consultant invoices accurately and on schedule.


• Review and index invoices in Hyland OnBase.


• Audit and process employee travel and expense reports using Emburse Enterprise (Chrome River).


• Coordinate payments to vendors, employees, and American Express accounts per company timelines.


• Manage weekly AP check runs and EFT disbursements.


• Ensure appropriate coding, documentation, and compliance with audit standards.


• Support month-end and year-end close activities.


• Respond promptly to internal and external inquiries with professionalism and accuracy.


• Contribute to process improvements and special projects as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).


• 3+ years of accounts payable experience within a high-volume environment.


• Costpoint experience required (v8.2.0 preferred).


• Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, lookups, formulas).


• Proven ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and work independently.


• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.


• Strong communication and customer-service skills.


• Familiarity with OnBase and Emburse Enterprise is a plus.


• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a security clearance if required.
