Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Online Teaching Assistants (TAs) for our Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) program. As a TA, you will play a crucial role in supporting students throughout their educational journey in the Certified Professional Biller Training course. This is a remote position, offering flexibility while helping students succeed in the field of medical billing.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide personalized one-on-one mentoring to students throughout their course, ensuring they stay on track and meet learning objectives.
Guide students in navigating the prescribed course materials and resources effectively.
Monitor and evaluate individual student progress, including assignments, quizzes, and practical exercises, and offer constructive feedback in a timely manner.
Utilize the online learning management system (LMS) to access course materials, assignments, and communicate with students about course expectations.
Assist in live sessions hosted on our virtual classroom platform, helping faculty facilitate engaging and interactive learning experiences.
Adapt teaching methods to support diverse learning styles, providing engaging assignments that highlight real-world applications of the course concepts.
Be available to offer guidance and answer questions during office hours or by appointment through virtual platforms, email, or phone.
Participate in orientation sessions to become familiar with policies, procedures, and the learning management system.
Respond to student inquiries and coaching questions within 48 hours to ensure timely support.
Qualifications:
Valid certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Professional Biller (CPB).
Experience in teaching or mentoring adult learners, especially in a corporate training environment, is preferred.
Previous experience teaching online is a plus.
2-3 years of hands-on experience in production coding or auditing.
Required Skills & Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of the relevant discipline and current practices.
Proven ability to effectively teach and mentor adult learners, particularly in an online environment.
A strong commitment to providing excellent support and guidance to students.
Proficiency in using technology for online teaching, including learning management systems and virtual classroom platforms.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Strong organizational skills with an ability to respond promptly to student inquiries.
Ability to foster positive relationships with students and colleagues, creating an engaging and supportive learning atmosphere.
Experience teaching in fully online or hybrid course formats is beneficial.
