Five Keys Overview Founded in 2003 by the San Francisco Sheriffs Department, Five Keys was the first accredited charter high school in the nation to provide diploma programs for adults in county jails. Today, we are a social justice non-profit with expanded charter schools in 9 counties, across 24 jail locations, and over 80 community learning centers. Our services also include homeless shelters, employment programs, reentry initiatives, and housing for women facing injustice. Qualifications Job Summary The Educational Specialist reports to the SPED Program Manager and works with transitional aged students both in and out of jail, aged 15-22, with potential support for older adults through 504 plans. Responsibilities include collaborative teaching, service delivery, and supporting multiple sites across regions. Job Duties and Responsibilities Differentiating curriculum to meet student needs Developing and enhancing curriculum based on student strengths Building professional relationships with students and staff Providing one-on-one and group services in special education Maintaining accurate records in accordance with laws Supporting IEP implementation and leading IEP meetings Administering diagnostic tests and coordinating with team members Ensuring a safe environment for all Other duties as assigned Knowledge and Skills Proficiency in Excel, online IEP records, and email Understanding of California and Common Core Standards Advanced skills in MS Office, Google Suite, and professional communication Strict confidentiality Education and Work Experience Valid Mild/Moderate Special Education Credential or Intern Credential Bachelor’s Degree in related field Minimum 3 years experience with secondary special education youth Physical Requirements Vaccination against COVID-19 or adherence to safety measures Valid CA driver’s license and reliable transportation Travel to various sites required Ability to move equipment and remain stationary as needed Additional Requirements Satisfactory background check and jail clearance Proof of TB results within 60 days of hire Work Environment Moderate to high noise levels Work in correctional facilities and community sites Potential safety risks in underserved communities Growth Opportunities We support ongoing professional development, including conferences, training, and internal growth opportunities to help employees advance within the organization. #J-18808-Ljbffr Five Keys Schools and Programs
