This program focuses on increasing voter participation and engagement in Elmwood and Passaic City, NJ , and ensuring that every voice in the community is heard . At Solidarity Strategies, we are committed to electing Democrats and driving progressive change through grassroots organizing and one-on-one conversations with voters.
About the RoleWe’re hiring passionate, outgoing, and reliable canvassers to join our field team in Paterson and Passaic, NJ . As a canvasser, you will speak directly with voters at their doors, share information about the campaign, and collect important data using tools like MiniVAN .
This is an entry-level position — no prior experience required . Paid training will be provided. Applicants must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license . Flexible schedules and multiple shifts are available.
What You’ll DoGo door-to-door in assigned neighborhoods
Talk with voters and share information about the campaign
Accurately collect and record data using MiniVAN
Submit daily reports and check in with your supervisor
Represent the campaign and its values professionally
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Field Director or Field Organizers
Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with new people
Friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
Tech-savvy and able to use a smartphone for data entry and navigation
Problem-solving skills for efficient route planning
Must be 18 years or older
Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
Authorized to work in the U.S.
Must have a smartphone with mobile data
Access to reliable transportation
Flexible availability: 12+ hours per week
$27/hour starting pay, with opportunities to earn up to $30/hr
