Dayspring Baptist Church is looking for a talented and versatile musician to join our worship leadership team.
About our Worship Style: We value our worship for its quality, creativity, and versatility. Though our usual style tends toward traditional hymns, we also enjoy spirituals, Taizé, classical, and occasionally contemporary worship songs. Other elements of our services tend to be participatory, joyful, reflective, and communal.
About this Position: We are looking for an accompanist who plays piano with skill and spirit. They must also be able to accompany congregational singing, vocal solos, guest instrumentalists, and the church choir which sings several times a year. Additional aptitude with acoustic guitar is welcome, but not necessary.
The Details: The Accompanist is a part-time position, requiring a minimum of 2 hours each Sunday morning in addition to needed practice time. This position requires availability on certain holidays, including Christmas Eve and Easter. Salary will be commensurate with experience and will range between $9,000 - $11,000/year.
About our Church: Dayspring Baptist is a small congregation in St. Louis's West County. We are associated with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (CBF) as well as the American Baptist Churches USA (ABC). We are inclusive, hospitable, and theologically open-minded. Although we would love for our accompanist to share our faith, this is not a requirement of the position. As long as the accompanist is kind and respectful of the church and its attenders, alignment with our church’s theology is not necessary.
