VP of Finance

Our client in the Iowa City area is looking to add a VP of Finance to their team. The VP of Finance is responsible for leading the financial operations across multi-unit operations. In this position, the VP of Finance must assist in creating financial plans, provide critical financial and accounting insights and analysis, as well as establishing functional objectives.

This is a Direct Hire role.

What you will be doing as a VP of Finance

• Strategically manage the accounting and finance functions.
• Direct and oversee accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Develop annual budgets and financial plans in line with organizational strategic planning.
• Supervise the monthly preparation of budget-to-actual P&L statements and variance analysis.
• Assess overall performance by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting KPIs.
• Provide comprehensive year-round tax planning.
• Manage commercial banking relationships to support organizational growth strategies.
• Interface with banks, lessors, external audit firms, and other financial intermediaries.
• Oversee the preparation of interim and annual financial statements.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage business risks and insurance requirements.
• Hire, train, and retain a skilled accounting and finance team.
• Analyze and forecast compensation planning.
  
  

Skills you ideally bring to the table as a VP of Finance

• Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• Over 5 years of progressive financial experience
• Strong knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
• Proven experience in an executive role
• Experience with strategic planning and business development within an organization
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills
