Qualifications:

• Certification and experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Familiarity with assistive technologies and adaptive instructional methods
• Ability to design individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible learning environment

Location:

• Santa Cruz, CA

Responsibilities:

• Assess and address the educational needs of visually impaired students from kindergarten through 12th grade
• Develop and implement specialized curriculum and instructional strategies
• Provide direct instruction and support in skills such as braille literacy, orientation and mobility, and use of assistive devices
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to modify materials and environments
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal setting and progress monitoring
• Advocate for students educational rights and accessibility within the school community
