• Location: Waterloo, Iowa (50703) – Iowa nursing jobs\n
• Unit: 28-bed Med/Surg Telemetry Unit\n
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel RN contract\n
• Start Date: January 7, 2026\n
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 4 shifts/week (48 hours/week), every other weekend & holiday rotation\n
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,880 - $2,020\n
• Employment Type: On-site travel nursing position\n
• EMR: EPIC\n

\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n

\n
• Active Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) license\n
• BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)\n
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Med/Surg, PACU, or post-operative hospital care\n
• Recent travel nurse experience (completed a travel contract within the past 12 months)\n
• Proficient in telemetry strip reading and cardiac monitoring\n
• Experience with a variety of surgical patient types: general, thoracic, vascular, urology, gynecology, orthopedics, podiatry\n
• Skilled in managing PCA's, epidurals, chest tubes, and CBIs\n
• EPIC EMR proficiency\n
• Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (no local candidates)\n
• Submission of recent skills checklist, updated resume, license verification, and professional references required\n

\n\nMed/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities\n

\n
• Provide high-quality nursing care to post-operative surgical patients in a Med/Surg Telemetry setting\n
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips; manage cardiac drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Lasix, Insulin, etc.)\n
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans\n
• Float to similar Med/Surg units as needed, including Behavioral Health and Emergency Department\n
• Utilize bedside monitors and EPIC EMR for accurate patient documentation and care coordination\n
• Participate in scheduled holiday and weekend rotations\n
• Maintain a safe, compassionate, and patient-centered healthcare environment\n
