Job Description

Partnership Employment has partnered with a growing healthcare facility to find a Controller to lead their accounting team. This position reports directly to the CFO, has exceptional growth potential, offers a salary up to $155k plus quarterly bonus. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the month-end close process, including review and approval of journal entries, financial statements, board reports, and distributions.
  • Conduct research on accounting and financial issues, providing actionable solutions and investigating budget variances.
  • Review and approve quarterly and annual financial reports, including ad hoc reporting and regulatory submissions such as the AHA survey and Medicare Cost Report.
  • Coordinate and manage annual audits (financial, payroll, 401(k)), tax filings, and other required governmental reports.
  • Design and maintain internal controls, financial policies, and procedures to ensure asset protection and accurate reporting.
  • Oversee budgeting processes, cost control initiatives, inventory and supply management, and position control.
  • Prepare and manage the annual operating budget and oversee monthly and quarterly budget reporting.
  • Collaborate with leadership to prioritize capital investments using a criteria-based selection process.
  • Identify and implement workflow improvements and technology solutions to enhance financial operations.
  • Authorize disbursements and manage cash flow to ensure sufficient operational reserves.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations for new and existing services, contracts, and business ventures.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging, analyze trends, and implement strategies to improve cash flow and reduce outstanding balances.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • CPA certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or lead accounting role.
  • Experience in cost accounting within a healthcare or hospital setting is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with FASB standards and third-party reimbursement systems including Medicare and Medicaid.
