Surgical Technician: Operating Room 1.0 FTE - Day at Providence summary:

The Surgical Technician at Providence Newberg Medical Center is a full-time role responsible for preparing and assisting in the operating room under the supervision of a registered nurse. Duties include selecting surgical supplies, performing surgical scrubs, supporting surgeons during procedures, and managing instruments post-operation. Candidates must have certification, BLS training, and at least three years of relevant experience.

Surgical Technician: Operating Room at Providence Newberg Medical Center is 1.0 FTE full time position working during weekdays and weekends on a day shift.

The Surgical Technician role is a non-licensed health care employee who performs the surgical scrub role and works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). These duties may include reviewing preference lists and picking the supplies and instruments for a procedure; performing a surgical scrub and preparing the back table with the appropriate sterile instrumentation and supplies; providing support intra-operatively by anticipating the surgeon's needs and passing him/her the appropriate instrumentation and supplies when needed during the case; completing the cycle by taking instruments and equipment to the decontamination area at the end of the procedure and putting away left over supplies and equipment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training: Successfully completed training as a surgical technician at an accredited school.
  • Upon hire: National Certified Surgical Technologist - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • 3 years experience as a Surgical Technician in Operating Room.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors.
