Inova Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Neuro ICU for a nursing job in Arlington, Virginia.
We are seeking a full time RN Fellow for the NSICU at Inova Fairfax Hospital. Shift: 3x 12-hour Day/Night rotation (7am-7pm/ 7pm-7am). The RN Fellow position is for an experienced RN transitioning into a different specialty (ICU).
The Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is an 18-bed adult unit. It is the only dedicated neuroscience intensive care unit in the Northern Virginia region. Our patient population includes Neurosurgery, Ischemic stroke, cerebral hemorrhage, and other critical care patients based on bed availability. We are actively engaged in clinical research to treat the patient with CVA to include Interventional Radiology procedures. Inova Fairfax Medical Campus has received certification to be a primary Stroke Center from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and is currently a level 4 Epilepsy Center designated. Average length of stay for the NSICU is 4.3 days. Our nurse/patient ratio is 1:2.

REQUIREMENTS for RN Fellow Neuro ICU:
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience. This is not a New Grad RN position.
- Education - BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN)- must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
- BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification required and ACLS strongly preferred (must obtain within first 3 months).
- RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a RN
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skill and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others.
- Proficient computer skills required.
