The Fulfillment Team within Commercial Technology at Rivian builds software to support the purchase and delivery process of Rivian vehicles. Our applications are used by customers and operational teams. We are looking for a software engineer who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment, who is obsessed with providing the best experience for our customers, and holds themselves to high engineering standards.

• Design, develop, and test customer-facing and internal applications
• Collaborate with UX designers, product managers, and other engineering teams on business and engineering initiatives
• Mentor more junior engineers and establish best engineering practices for the team
• Willing to support on-call rotation as needed for production systems

• 5+ years of professional engineering experience
• Bachelor's degree in CS or any STEM discipline or equivalent experience
• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and React
• Experience with GraphQL and REST development
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructures (AWS preferred)
• Familiarity working with Docker and Kubernetes or other serverless and container-based architectures
• Solid understanding of databases (Postgres, RDS, DynamoDB, etc.)
• Great understanding of caching, security and privacy considerations
• Unit testing and test-driven development experience
• Systematic troubleshooting and root cause analysis experience
• Knowledge of Agile Development of Accessible Software Tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters Degree in related field
• Experience developing SaaS products
• Experience with SSR React frameworks
• Familiarity with Java, Spring Boot, and backend frameworks
• Experience with building backend services and APIs in Java
• Familiarity with Spring Boot and developing enterprise applications
• Experience with building large-scale software applications

Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $135,100 - $183,600 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law)
