At Carta, we are creating the end-to-end ERP platform for private markets. Traditional ERP solutions dont work for Private Funds. Private capital markets need a comprehensive software solution to replace outdated spreadsheets and fragmented service providers. Cartas software for the Office of the Fund CFO does just that - its a new category of software to make private markets look more like public markets - a connected ERP for private capital.

Carta is seeking an experienced Senior Web Designer to elevate the user experience and visual design of carta.com. This role will play a key part in shaping how founders, investors, and finance leaders interact with Cartas digital presence. You will blend UX expertise, systems thinking, and exacting design to deliver intuitive, interactive web experiences that align with Cartas ambitious brand and business goals. As a Senior Web Designer, youll work to:

• Lead end-to-end design for high-impact areas of carta.comfrom research and concepting to polished interactive experiences.
• Translate user needs and business objectives into clear, intuitive design solutions.
  Develop and evolve a scalable design system for carta.com that aligns with Cartas broader brand and product ecosystem.
• Partner with web strategists, developers, the Brand & Creative team and other marketers to launch pages and features that are user-friendly, engaging, and that both convert and inspire.
• Conceive and design interactive components (calculators, dashboards, personalization elements, data visualizations) that drive engagement.
• Design AI-integrated web experiences that combine Cartas proprietary data and modern interaction models (e.g., conversational interfaces, predictive personalization, smart calculators).
• Conduct UX reviews and usability testing to inform design decisions and validate solutions.
• Stay ahead of design and UX trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve Cartas digital presence.

The Team Youll Work With

Its an exciting time at Cartawere building the worlds first ERP for private capital. Purpose-built software that transforms workflows and communication between finance leaders in startups, venture capital, private equity and limited partnerships, throughout a private fund lifecycle.

About You

• 6-8+ years of professional experience in web and UX design, ideally for SaaS, fintech, or B2B companies recommended.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in UX flows, responsive design, and interactive web experiences.
• Strong design fundamentals with exceptional taste levels.
• Deep experience building and maintaining design systems across web properties.
• Expert in Figma, with a solid understanding of front-end capabilities and limitations.
• Strong collaboration skills; able to partner with developers, strategists, creatives, marketers, and executives.
• Experience designing for accessibility, scalability, and performance.
• Strong communication skills; ability to thoughtfully articulate and present design rationale and defend decisions.

Nice to Have

• Experience with data visualization and interactive tools.
• Familiarity with analytics, experimentation, and conversion optimization.
• Background in working with distributed, global teams.

Cartas compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, exceptional benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans. Our minimum cash compensation (salary + commission if applicable) range for this role is:

• $161,500 - $190,000 in San Francisco, CA

Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, and other factors.
