Position Description :
Designs and implements REST Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for clients and services using Java frameworks -- Spring Boot. Builds secure, scalable, resilient Cloud-based micro-services and software applications. Exchanges asynchronous messages between services and uses SQL databases to organize data. Writes automated unit and integration tests. Packages software for deployment using containers. Coordinates builds using Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines. Prepares services for deployment to Amazon Web Services (AWS). Automates deployment processes with Jenkins. Automates unit and integration testing with Junit.\u00A0 Provides business solutions by developing complex software applications.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.
Education and Experience :
Bachelor s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and implementing REST APIs using Spring Boot.
Or, alternatively, Master s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and implementing REST APIs using Spring Boot.
Skills and Knowledge :
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (\u201CDE\u201D) designing and developing financial services applications; performing Information Technology (IT) product development in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment, using Java, Spring Boot framework, Application Programming Interface (API) development, Swagger, Apache Tomcat, SQL, and JDBI; and deploying databases and applications through established Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, using GitHub, ECS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
DE diagnosing and correcting issues for distributed financial services -- evaluating customer impact and the appropriate steps required for resolution -- using Service Now, Jira, Datadog, Splunk, and PostgreSQL within production and staging environments.
DE designing and developing unit, functional, integration, and smoke tests for distributed enterprise systems using JUnit, Mockito, and MockServer; and testing all aspects of code -- edge and negative test cases -- to ensure mission critical code is reliable, using Postman, Insomnia, and Datadog.
DE designing and developing distributed enterprise systems using AWS Simple Notification Service (SNS) and AWS Simple Queue Service (SQS); and designing code to properly handle idempotency and ensure mission critical features are resilient, using Confluence and Jira.
