**Senior Software Engineer - Email Delivery**

Email Engineering has direct technical responsibility for Klaviyos most-used engagement channel. Our systems send over 500M emails each day, and drive billions of dollars in revenue for Klaviyo customers. The Email Deliverability team owns the monitoring and maintenance of IP and domain reputation for email sends. This ensures that messages from Klaviyo customers reach subscriber inboxes.

In 2022 the team will define and execute a roadmap to add major new capabilities, ranging from unified metrics and reporting, to new automation that detects deliverability risks before they happen, to creating a Klaviyo-managed MTA deployment. Youll be directly contributing to an area that is both mission-critical and one of the top drivers of Klaviyo customer satisfaction.

**How You Will Make a Difference**

* Work closely with Product Management, Engineering leaders, and Data Science on definition of new capabilities to maintain and improve deliverability.

* Implement and own the source of truth for all deliverability related metrics.

* Implement automation to detect suspicious content and recipients before they are used.

* Implement tools and visualizations to aid in managing and monitoring deliverability.

* Contribute to system architecture and deployment of our email sending solution.

* Collaborate with teams across Klaviyo on analytics, automation and sending best-practices.

* Use and expand your experience with being a coach and a mentor for team members and helping them grow.

**Who You Are**

* Youre a full stack engineer with 6+ years of experience focusing on backend functions and distributed systems.

* Experienced with cloud-based systems development and deployment, AWS preferred.

* You have experience with big data technologies like Spark, Hive and Kafka; have worked with data-sets > 1TB.

* Experience designing and implementing REST APIs.

* Nice to have: Experience managing/deploying cloud-based infrastructures; devops tools like Chef, Puppet or Terraform.

* Nice to have: Experience with email sending solutions like PowerMTA or Momentum.

* Nice to have: Familiarity with email authentication systems such as SPF, DKIM, and DMARC; deliverability concepts such as spamtraps, blocklists, ip/domain reputation.

* Like working on small, high-performing autonomous agile teams. At Klaviyo, you will have ownership of features, but you'll collaborate with everyone to make sure we produce the right solution.
