Job Description

As a Salon Apprentice, you will be embarking on a 6-month training program to gain hands-on experience and develop the necessary skills to become a professional at the leading hair salon in the DFW area. This position will provide you with the opportunity to learn from experienced stylists, expand your knowledge of salon operations, and contribute to the overall success of the salon.

Your responsibilities during this training period will include:

  1. Assisting Stylists:

    • Provide support to senior stylists and technicians in performing hair care services.
    • Prepare clients for services by shampooing, conditioning, and applying treatments.
    • Assist with color application, hair cutting, styling, and other salon procedures.
    • Handle basic salon tasks, such as sweeping, sanitizing tools, and maintaining a clean workspace.
    • Observe and learn different techniques, styles, and trends in the industry.
  2. Salon Organization:

    • Keep the salon area clean, organized, and well-stocked with supplies.
    • Maintain salon equipment, including cleaning and sterilizing tools as needed.
    • Ensure towels, capes, and other salon materials are laundered and readily available.
  3. Learning and Development:

    • Actively participate in the salon training program, attending all educational sessions and workshops. (Classes meet every Monday at our Coppell location) 
    • Study and practice various hair care techniques and styles under the guidance of senior stylists.
    • Stay updated with industry trends, new products, and emerging technologies.
    • Seek feedback from senior staff to improve your skills and performance.
    • Take initiative to expand your knowledge and skills through independent learning.
  4. Professionalism and Teamwork:

    • Uphold high standards of professionalism, including appearance and conduct.
    • Collaborate effectively with salon team members to ensure a seamless client experience.
    • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude towards colleagues and clients.
    • Embrace feedback and guidance from senior staff with a willingness to learn and grow.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must be licensed or soon to be licensed for Texas Cosmetology
  • Passion for the hair salon industry and a strong desire to pursue a career as a stylist.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality service.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours as needed.
