As an ICU Registered Nurse, I provide direct patient care to critically ill patients during night shifts, utilizing critical thinking and decisiveness in high-pressure situations. I hold the required certifications and must be ready for on-call assignments, demonstrating flexibility to work in various clinical areas. My role demands strong judgment, exceptional patient care, and adherence to nursing standards while working under the supervision of the ICU Director.

Provides direct patient care to acutely and critically ill patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Reports to: Director of ICU
Qualifications:Minimum Education Bachelor’s degree preferred
Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Ability to accept regular on-call assignments for regularly scheduled shifts when acuity and/or census indicates need. Will be available to report to facility within 30 minutes of notification. This status will be determined by Department Director, House Supervisor, or Administrator on call.
Ability to float to various clinical areas, where qualified and competent.
Required Certifications/Licensure Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and
PALS within 90 days of hire
Handle with Care within one year from date of hire
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of VA or Compact licensure as a Registered Nurse which includes the Commonwealth of VA, and in good standing with the Board.
Minimum Work Experience One year of previous ICU or CCU experience strongly preferred.
