PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR – The City of Austin, AR is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the role of Public Works Director. This position is responsible for the Water, Wastewater/Sewer, and Street departments for a city that is approximately 5 square miles and has a population of 3,460. This responsibility includes budgets, project management, citizen inquiries, personnel management, and any other tasks assigned by the mayor. The City of Austin was just recently recognized as the #2 safest city in the state of Arkansas.
Requirements: The applicant must be certified as both Class III water and Class III Wastewater/Sewer. The candidate must also have, at a minimum, 4 years of experience in both the water and wastewater fields. The candidate must also possess the ability to manage projects, manage personnel, and manage equipment and facilities. Knowledge of road construction is another skill that will be highly advantageous for this position. The candidate must have an Arkansas DL with a clean driving record, Highschool diploma, and no criminal record. The candidate must also pass a drug screening and a background investigation.
Starting salary is $68,000-$75,000+ depending on experience.
