These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise, facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad array of other professional skills that support the National Park Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP).Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee.PLEASE NOTE: An ?Enrollee? is not a federal employee, nor an employee of NEW Solutions. An ?Enrollee? is a participant in a grant program established through a Cooperative Agreement funded by the agency and administered by NEW Solutions.This opportunity applies to applicants legally eligible to work in the United States.Qualifications:MA/MS Degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Economics, Social Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Natural Resource Management, Community Planning, Business Administration, Sociology, Political Science, or any other relevant degree with minimum additional experience of 15 year(s) in park management and leadershipManagement of a large organization in conservation/outdoor recreation.Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPointDuties:The Project Specialist will provide research opportunities and collect data to create further support for the Land and Water Conservation Program Team.To help the LWCF program to better serve its state partners and to help modernize the LWCF program, research federal and state grant program requirements, and determine effectiveness of state programs LWCF implementation.45%Research past and current grant applications and gather data defining trends in outdoor recreation.20%Gather data to determine how many LWCF sites contain stadiums, and how many are on school district grounds or contain schools to inform development of new guidance.25%Develop a report on findings and deliver to LWCF staff through variety of training methods.10%Other:Travel Requirements: Periodic travel to Washington DC and other regional offices as needed to carry out the duties.Overnight travel: Periodic travel to Washington DC and other regional offices as needed to carry out the duties.Air travel anticipated: Periodic travel to Washington DC and other regional offices as needed to carry out the duties.Physical requirements: Normal office environment activities.
