About the Role

501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity with the goal of connecting philanthropically-minded donors with avenues for charitable giving. The foundation is governed by a local volunteer board of trustees and run by professionals with expertise in assessing the community’s need, working with donors to connect generosity with need and managing charitable assets. The Foundation is committed to building a vibrant, compassionate and engaged the community. We encourage local philanthropy and offer individuals, families and businesses a variety of easy and tax-efficient ways to impact their community through charitable giving. The Foundation assists donors in building an enduring source of charitable assets by creating pathways to establish permanent endowment funds under the umbrella of one large foundation. The President & CEO is responsible for increasing the Foundation’s assets, taking a leadership role in the community, and promoting sustainability by working collaboratively with the Board of Trustees, community agencies, local government, and individual and corporate donors to enhance the quality of life. The President & CEO also provides leadership and guidance to the Foundation staff and independent contractors who provide ongoing services to the Foundation. Responsibilities Include: • Community Connection: Creating and deepening relationships. • Communication: Communicating CFHoCo’s mission to the community, bringing visibility to the community’s challenges and collaboratively developing solutions to address those challenges. • Fundraising: Building relationships with key funding partners – individual, corporate, and high-net-worth donors and prospects to elevate opportunities for community members with impactful gifts. • Financial & Operational Excellence: Focusing on effective budget management and financial resourcefulness while driving efficient and purposeful operations oversight. • Staff Guidance: Leading a team of talented individuals to optimize their strengths and develop their areas of opportunity to best serve the community. • Volunteer Leadership: Partnering and cultivating relationships with the dedicated Board of Trustees and community volunteers. Ideal Candidate: • The President & CEO must possess the skills to lead a mature yet growing philanthropic organization and demonstrate a history of accomplishment. • Experience as a fundraiser working with individuals, corporations, and the public sector. A relationship builder, particularly with donors. • Financial and operational management experience. Ability to prepare, monitor, and manage the investment policy and operational budgets. • A minimum of five years of senior management experience in the nonprofit, corporate, education, or government sectors. • Ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures. • Demonstrated ability to act as the spokesperson for an organization, preferably a not-for-profit; a charismatic and engaging speaker able to craft and deliver a compelling message to a range of audiences. • Experience working with a nonprofit board and possessing the ability to cultivate board relationships. • Energy, enthusiasm, creativity, diplomacy, public speaking talents, attention to detail, strategic thinking and analysis, integrity, and a deep commitment to the Foundation and community’s core values. • Bachelor’s degree, with an advanced degree preferred.
