Start the year strong as a PLC Programmer / Senior PLC Software Sustaining Engineer in New Freedom, PA (Onsite). This role is ideal for an experienced automation professional who thrives in hands-on troubleshooting, system optimization, and long-term system reliability within industrial HVAC environments. You'll play a critical role in supporting and improving deployed PLC-based control systems, ensuring smooth operations, energy efficiency, and compliance. With a 5-month contract and the potential for extension or conversion, this opportunity offers both immediate impact and future growth. What You'll Do Support, maintain, and troubleshoot Toshiba PLC-based HVAC control systems in the field and at customer sites Diagnose PLC software and hardware issues and implement fixes, patches, and minor system upgrades Analyze performance data and tune systems to improve efficiency, reliability, and uptime Collaborate with engineering teams and customers to resolve ongoing issues and support change requests Perform root cause analysis on recurring system failures and assist with corrective actions Maintain accurate technical documentation, change logs, and system records Mentor junior engineers and support staff when needed Ensure systems meet safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience/certifications) 5+ years of experience in industrial automation, technical support, or sustaining engineering 2+ years of hands-on experience with Toshiba PLCs Strong troubleshooting skills across PLC software and hardware Experience with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, BACnet, Ethernet/IP) Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills Ability to work independently and collaborate across technical teams Nice to Have Experience with HVAC control systems and automation Familiarity with other PLC platforms Experience with Pro-Face HMIs Equal Opportunity Employer / Disabled / Protected Veterans The Know Your Rights poster is available here: The pay transparency policy is available here: For temporary assignments lasting 13 weeks or longer, AllSTEM Connections is pleased to offer major medical, dental, vision, 401k and any statutory sick pay where required.
