Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys in various aspects of legal work, including estate planning, litigation, and workers' compensation law. This role requires proficiency in document management systems and strong clerical skills to support the efficient operation of our practice.

Duties

• Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents and correspondence related to estate planning and litigation cases.
• Manage and organize case files using document management systems to ensure easy information retrieval.
• Conduct legal research utilizing tools such as Lexis-Nexis to support case preparation.
• Proofread and transcribe legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
• Maintain communication with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in cases, providing updates as necessary.
• Prepare summaries of depositions, witness statements, and other legal documents for attorney review.
• Assist with filing documents in court and manage deadlines for various legal proceedings.

Requirements

*** AT LEAST 1 YEAR OF FAMILY LAW EXPERIENCE ***

• Proven experience as a Paralegal or in a similar role within a law firm or legal department.
• Strong understanding of estate planning, litigation processes, and workers' compensation law is preferred.
• Proficiency in document management systems and familiarity with PCLaw is a plus.
• Excellent proofreading skills with keen attention to detail.
• Strong clerical skills including organization, time management, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Ability to transcribe legal documents accurately under tight deadlines.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
