Description of Duties:

The Outreach Grant Manager will be responsible for managing programmatic information, data, communications, and processes between to the State, City and County government on behalf of one of aFit’s clients. The individual will have outstanding listening skills, genuine interest in fostering teamwork, a willingness to provide honest feedback, and extreme ownership are keys to the success of our projects.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Cultivate and maintain collaborative working relationships with all grant awardees and program staff to identify areas of need related to grants, help develop resolutions and amend strategic plans to maintain/improve funding and performance metrics.
  • Field questions and respond to information requests from internal customers as well as other state agencies.
  • Travel to cities and counties in Indiana may be required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Teams
  • Able to perform more varied and difficult tasks.
  • Able to work in a collaborative team environment to obtain the best results.
  • Work as a topmost trusted partner with aFit and the client.
  • Provide attention to details.

Job Eligibility:

An employee of the Indiana Department of Veterans’ Affairs must satisfy one of the following eligibility requirements:

  • Veteran
  • Spouse of a veteran
  • Surviving spouse of a veteran
  • Parent of a veteran, or child of a veteran

The veteran must be:

  • An honorably discharged veteran who has at least six (6) months active service in the armed forces of the United States; and
  • A resident of Indiana for at least two (2) cumulative years preceding the applicant's appointment.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience.
