Job description:
The Nursery Supervisor will be an integral part of the cultivation team. We are seeking an experienced candidate with a strong background in growing healthy plants.
Responsibilities:
· Plant Care and Maintenance:
o Supervise the daily care and maintenance of mother plants from propagation through the vegetative stage.
o Monitor plant health, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
o Oversee all stages of crop maintenance as directed by the Director of Cultivation, ensuring meticulous care and adherence to established protocols.
· Team Leadership:
o Lead and manage a team of nursery staff, providing guidance and support.
o Conduct regular training sessions to ensure staff are knowledgeable about cultivation techniques and safety protocols.
o Conduct essential staff training sessions as needed, fostering a dynamic learning environment to enhance team skills and knowledge.
o Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
· Data collection and reporting
o Implement and oversee data collection processes within the cannabis cultivation nursery ensuring accurate recording of plant growth metrics, environmental conditions, and nutrient applications.
o Generate regular reports summarizing cultivation data, trends, and performance metrics, providing actionable insights to optimize plant health, resource allocation, and overall operational efficiency.
· Cultivation Operations:
o Oversee cloning, transplanting, and other cultivation tasks to ensure efficient and effective processes.
o Implement and enforce company policies and procedures related to cultivation.
o Work closely with other departments to coordinate cultivation activities.
· Compliance:
o Ensure compliance with all state and local regulations governing cannabis cultivation.
o Maintain accurate records and documentation for all cultivation activities.
o Collaborate with compliance officers to address any regulatory issues.
· Facility Management:
o Maintain a clean and organized nursery facility.
o Monitor and manage inventory levels for cultivation supplies.
o Collaborate with maintenance staff to address any facility-related issues.
Qualifications:
· Experience:
o Minimum of 3 years of experience in cannabis cultivation, with a focus on nursery operations.
o Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
· Education:
o Bachelor's degree in horticulture, agriculture, or a related field is preferred.
· Skills:
o Strong knowledge of cannabis cultivation techniques and best practices.
o Excellent leadership and communication skills.
o Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
o Familiarity with state and local regulations pertaining to cannabis cultivation.
· Physical Requirements:
o Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
o Comfortable working in a greenhouse environment.
