Alstom is looking for a Network Engineering Intern that will support the design and deployment of wired and wireless networks on Alstom’s APM (Automated People Mover) projects. Interns will be expected to support the project specific design documentation and configurations.

The Intern will work closely with the Network and Telecommunications team involved in multiple APM projects, ensuring quality design documentation. Assisting with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of networking equipment.

Job Description:

• Take part in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network devices such as switches, firewalls, and wireless access points
• Participate in the planning, design, and testing of network devices
• Agree with the N&T Engineering Manager on strategy, scheduling, and share progress, results and issues during execution

Key accountabilities:

• Assist the diagnosis and resolution of network issues, working under the guidance of senior engineers
• Support network design documentation including Interface Control Document, assembly, schematic, and wire list drawings, including creation and updating
• Manage network configuration and change management cycle related with N&T activities

Required Profile:

• Enrolled in a 4-year program and have completed at least 2 years of a major in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Project Management or related field(s).

Preferred Experience :

• Experience with Cisco network equipment is helpful but not required.
• Experience with LAN/WAN design utilizing Gigabit Ethernet
