Vaco has partnered with a company looking for medical coders for a 3-4 month contract! Job Summary:

We are seeking a Medical Coder with experience using eClinicalWorks (eCW) to ensure accurate coding and billing for healthcare services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing medical documentation, assigning appropriate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes, and ensuring compliance with insurance and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze medical records in eClinicalWorks (eCW) for proper coding and billing.
• Assign accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes based on provider documentation.
• Ensure compliance with CMS, HIPAA, and insurance payer guidelines .
• Submit coded claims through eClinicalWorks and resolve any claim rejections or denials.
• Conduct audits to ensure coding accuracy and proper documentation.
• Work closely with providers and clinical staff to clarify documentation and coding issues.
• Monitor denials and rejections , identify trends, and implement corrective actions.
• Keep up to date with coding changes, payer guidelines, and industry best practices.
• Assist in training providers and staff on proper documentation and coding practices.
• Generate coding and billing reports from eCW for management review.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent certification required.
• Experience:
• 2+ years of medical coding experience, preferably in a clinical setting.
• Hands-on experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is required.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and medical terminology .
• Experience working with insurance payers, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurers .
• Strong knowledge of E/M coding, procedural coding, and diagnosis coding .
• Familiarity with claim submission, appeals, and reimbursement policies .
