🏥 Outpatient Coder – 8-Week Contract

📍 Remote | $30 - $35/hr | Full-Time Contract

About the Role:

Pride Health is seeking an experienced Outpatient Coder for an 8-week remote contract opportunity. This position is ideal for a certified professional with a strong background in acute hospital outpatient coding who can deliver accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with coding standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and code retrospective outpatient accounts using ICD-10-CM and CPT in line with Official Coding Guidelines.
• Identify and assign the most accurate Reason for Visit, Primary Diagnosis, Procedures, and Modifiers.
• Abstract required data elements such as discharge disposition, procedure dates, and physician information.
• Recognize when physician queries are needed and route incomplete or missing documentation appropriately.
• Validate chargemaster-driven CPT code assignments and complete reviews once documentation is updated.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards as defined by coding service lines.
• Mentor or train peers on assigned coding lines when needed.
• Stay current on all coding regulations, guidelines, and practices.

Qualifications:

• Required: Minimum 2 years of acute hospital outpatient coding experience.
• One of the following certifications is required: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, COC, CPC, CPC-H, or CIRCC.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Health Information Management or related field.
• Prior experience working remotely is a plus.
