🚨Please Note: Vyper will be relocating to a brand new, state-of-the-art facility in Wrightstown, WI beginning this fall. The new space is designed for innovation, efficiency, and continued growth. Until the move, this role is based in person at our current location in Green Bay, WI.

Schedule: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday - Friday 

Salary: $70k - $80k per year (depending on experience & qualifications)

OVERVIEW:

Vyper’s fast-paced engineering team is expanding, and we are looking for a Mechanical Designer to help drive our OEM product development. You will work closely with stakeholders, using SolidWorks to create and refine designs while solving real-world challenges. This role goes beyond CAD - you will also be hands-on, assembling prototypes and conducting testing throughout the development process. With significant growth opportunities, you will have the chance to make a real impact on the future of our products.

DAY-TO-DAY ACTIVITIES:

• Collaborate with the engineering team to drive projects from concept through production readiness
• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks using GD&T standards
• Optimize existing designs to improve manufacturability and reduce costs
• Ensure designs meet high standards for quality, reliability, ergonomics, safety, and regulatory compliance
• Generate and maintain OEM documentation, including BOMs, specifications, revisions, and testing reports
• Assist with prototype testing plans, physical test setups, and test equipment operation
• Support product launches by aiding in custom tooling design, assembly training, and troubleshooting
• Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and design tools to continuously improve processes and reduce costs

WE EXPECT YOU TO HAVE:

• 3–5 years of relevant industry experience 
• Proficient in SolidWorks: model configurations, blocks, sheet metal design, assemblies, drawings, and document templates
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and full ownership of assignments
• Growth mindset essential for success in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Effective problem-solver able to work independently and within a team
• Clear and professional oral and written communication
• Skilled at managing and prioritizing multiple tasks under tight deadlines
• Comfortable refining and evolving designs collaboratively in real time
• Able to perform basic mechanical calculations as needed
• Solid mechanical design background with hands-on experience in various fabrication methods, especially sheet metal

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Retail product packaging design 
• FEA analysis and/or prototype testing 
• 3D / additive printing
