Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Sterling Engineering is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a mid-sized manufacture in Wood Dale. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to join a diverse team of engineers and make an impact within the organization. Candidates should have a BSME with at minimum some internships.

Responsibilities:

• Design Band heaters based on the customer’s requirements and/or drawings
• Create manufacturing drawings and release orders into production
• Program sheet metal parts and release them into manufacturing
• Resolve production issues and challenges
• Maintain files and drawings of all designs to a company with ISO 9001:2015 requirements
• Provide technical support to customers and sales team
• Assist customers with new projects and calculations
• Evaluation of customer returns as required
• Research raw materials and Maintain drawings and specifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree required with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
• 1+ years experience preferred
• 3-D Modeling experience using Solid Works software preferred
• Knowledge of Basic Electrical circuits required
• Knowledge of sheet metal design required
• Working knowledge of sheet metal programming preferred
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and practices preferred
• Ability to work under pressure in challenging projects
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Problem-solving ability and project management skills
• Ability to maintain multiple projects at one time
