We are seeking an experienced Import Manager to lead and optimize our global import operations. This individual will oversee high-volume imports (7,500+ TEUs annually), ensuring compliance with all international trade regulations while driving process automation, cost reduction, and operational excellence.

We are seeking an experienced Import Manager to lead and optimize our global import operations. This individual will oversee high-volume imports (7,500+ TEUs annually), ensuring compliance with all international trade regulations while driving process automation, cost reduction, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the preparation, review, and submission of all import documentation, including customs declarations, HTS codes, bills of lading, and invoices.
  • Ensure strict adherence to U.S. Customs and international trade regulations; oversee USDA exams and coordinate with exam sites.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop import teams, including collaboration with offshore teams based in India.
  • Build, automate, and refine processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs across import operations.
  • Analyze large data sets to identify trends, optimize supply chain processes, and resolve operational challenges.
  • Coordinate closely with cross-functional departments to ensure smooth end-to-end import and export processes.
  • Communicate effectively with Indian export teams and leverage prior experience in managing India-U.S. trade lanes.
Qualifications Must Have
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, including HTS classification, customs filings, and international trade laws.
  • Direct experience managing large import volumes (7,500+ TEUs annually).
  • Proven track record in developing teams, automating processes, and building operational efficiencies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and drive process improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead international teams, especially across India import/export operations.
  • Experience in the human and/or animal food industry strongly preferred.
