Our client, a growing hospitality group, is seeking a Hotel Accountant to oversee the accounting functions for its portfolio of hotel properties.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on accounting professional with strong leadership skills and experience managing financial operations across multiple entities. This role will ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance across all hotel financials while supporting the corporate finance and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations for multiple hotel properties, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Review and analyze property-level financial statements, balance sheets, and P&Ls to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes for the hotel portfolio.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.
• Supervise and provide guidance to property-level and outsourced accounting staff.
• Collaborate closely with hotel general managers and operations leaders to review performance, budgets, and forecasts.
• Support preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts for assigned properties.
• Assist with tax filings, audits, and regulatory compliance reviews.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and strengthen internal controls.
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis and assist with special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.

• • Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Prior experience in hotel, hospitality, or property portfolio accounting required.
  • Proven ability to manage month-end close for multiple entities.
  • Experience supervising accounting teams or outsourced staff.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
