About Rocky Mountain Prep
Rocky Mountain Prep is a growing network of innovative public charter schools serving students and families in the Greater Denver Area. Rocky Mountain Prep (RMP) opened its first school in 2012 with 130 students and has grown to twelve schools, working with over 5,000 scholars in PreK through 12th grade across two districts. Grounded in our culture of rigor and love, our schools consistently outperform local districts academically while ensuring our scholars develop in our PEAK values of perseverance, excellence, adventure, and kindness.

Work collaboratively with their teammates and seek feedback, coaching, and mentorship from their admin team and school community. Implement our data-driven curriculum with the tools they've gained from experience while they adapt to the needs of their students.

During the 2024-2025 school year, RMP is driving after five big goals:
- 85% staff retention
- 100% of campuses going green & ECE-2nd grade students growing an average of 1.25 years in math and reading (1 year in ECE)
- 100% of seniors accepted to college
- 40% of 3rd-8th grade students meet their Accelerated Reader millionaire goal
- RMP meets its network enrollment goal
Each member of the organization plays a part in achieving these goals. School-based staff members will work towards 2 or 3 metrics aligned to their individual roles AND the Big 5. These metrics vary by position and are subject to change for the 2022-2023 school year. As a coach, you will be held accountable for some of these goals.
Season
February 1 - April 30
In this role, you will...
- Follows the rules and regulations of the school and league of participation.
- Attend mandatory preseason rules meetings.
- Attend post-season coaches' meetings.
- Meet with the Athletic Director regularly throughout the season to discuss progress.
- Time-sensitive communication with the Athletic Director.
- Utilize the development opportunities provided by the Athletic Director and Network Athletic Director.
- Organize, schedule, and supervise practice sessions (min. 2x/week)
- Communicate any practice changes to the Athletic Director.
- Manage staff of assistant coaches and any managers.
- Supervise and be responsible for the equipment in your sport, including handing out and collecting uniforms.
- Responsible for communication and dissemination of information to players, families, and the broader school community as needed related to practice schedules, tryout information, and any other relevant program information.
- Maintains appropriate supervision of his/her program at all times (locker rooms, practices, events, bus rides, etc.). Supervises any and all space used by athletes while they are present, including post-game and post-practice.
- Assures that the team will reflect the proper attitude and conduct at all times.
- Represents the school professionally in demeanor, language, and conduct.
- Any ad hoc duties assigned by the Athletic Director.
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience preferred, demonstrable understanding of the sport seeking to coach
- Teamwork and teambuilding skills
- Ability to pass a background check
Preferred:
- Speaks Spanish
- Demonstrated success working with students from historically marginalized communities
Compensation
RMP employs coach positions as part-time, salaried, non-exempt positions. The intended total compensation will be $1500 paid in equal monthly installments during the duration of the coaching role.
