Registered Nurse (RN) Behavioral Health at Spring View Hospital summary:

A Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) at Spring View Hospital provides comprehensive nursing care to patients with behavioral health needs, including medication administration, clinical treatments, and patient education. The nurse collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care, advocates for patient well-being, and assists with daily living activities. This role requires an Associate’s degree in nursing, current RN license in Kentucky, and Basic Life Support certification.

Position Summary:

The Behavioral Health RN coordinates total nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching, acts as a patient advocate and provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Experience:

• Associate’s degree in nursing required
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred

Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

License:

• Current RN license in the state of Kentucky
