Health and Safety Specialist

Job Summary:
The Health and Safety Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing occupational health and safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance and minimize workplace risks. They work closely with employees and management to foster a safety culture, reduce incidents, and promote worker well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify, assess, and mitigate workplace hazards.
Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures.
Train employees on safety regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and emergency response.
Conduct safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with local and federal regulations.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and unsafe conditions, recommending corrective actions.
Maintain safety records and reports to ensure regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with internal departments to improve safety and well-being practices.
Ensure compliance with regulations such as OSHA, EPA, or other applicable standards.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, studies in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
Previous experience in occupational health and safety (typically 2-5 years).
Knowledge of workplace safety regulations (OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, etc.).
Strong communication and training skills.
Analytical ability to assess risks and propose solutions.
Safety certifications (such as CSP, ASP, or similar) are a plus.
