What You Will Do:
Collaborate with internal and external teams and application users to conceptualize, design, and prototype excellent user experiences while maintaining functionality and simple workflows.
Define the design rationale and explain visual choices to cross-functional teams; express concepts verbally and visually.
Research and implement modern web technologies to create innovative user interfaces and improve workflow efficiency.
Develop estimates on scope and duration of work required for individuals or team(s) to deliver client requirements.
Build efficient, reusable libraries of design information for future use.
Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
Ability to translate architecture and other technical solutions into design products.
Recommend and support incremental implementation of enhancements to the accessibility, usability, and sustainability of the CDE-R, following government standards and industry best practices.
Support UI enhancements that leverage CDE concepts to improve organization, search, and retrieval.
Consult/make recommendations on UI improvements.
Producing wireframes or mockups, as requested.
Producing graphics, logos, etc., in support of UI improvements and alignment with NIH/NLM digital guidelines.
Support design, development, and testing of applications, websites and future APIs, and produce relevant documentation for external audiences.
What You Will Need:
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of TWO 2) year of work experience with Federal Clients.
Best practices in user interface/user experience (UI/UX) design, website usability and accessibility, producing wireframes and mockups.
Strong ability to effectively liaise between groups of various stakeholders (e.g., developers, testers, trainers).
Knowledge of 508 compliance.
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Excellent communication skills – at ease with coordination and strategizing with leadership on initiatives, facilitating UI/UX sessions, and presenting to broad audiences when necessary.
Experience working in agile, waterfall, or hybrid projects.
The annual salary range for this position is $75,800.00-$113,600.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
