Essential Functions

• Responsible for writing grants and proposals
• Manages grant and program development including strategizing, tracking, resource identification, data collection, research, process review and improvement initiatives.
• Prospects for new funding sources.
• Develops proposals for submission to federal, state and private funding agencies.
• Manages a development team of 2-3 staff.
• Develops strategic plans for an annual grants strategy and to secure funds for the organization
• Represents the organization at local/regional/national forums, workshops, meetings and events.
• Works closely with Executive Leadership to develop and implement creative strategies and to ensure that all processes and protocols are followed.

Requirements

• Must have a strong background in grant writing and 3-5 years of experience in a lead development role.
• Bachelor’s degree is required. Mater’s degree is a plus.
• Computer Proficiency: MS Office, Foothold
• Valid, clean driver’s license
• Ability to travel occasionally within Long Island
