* Individuals must be accepted into the Benedictine College graduate program in order to be selected for Graduate Assistant positions. Furthermore, individuals must remain in good standing in the graduate program in order to continue in the GA position. The GA position is a two-year commitment. POSITION SUMMARY The Graduate Assistant for the Student Activities Office will work up to 20 hours per week and report to the Director of Student Activities and Assistant Director of Student Activities. The Graduate Assistant is involved in a variety of activities with international students, orientation, programming, and off-campus students. This position is best suited for graduate students who are interested in pursuing professional opportunities in the field of higher education/student affairs.
Responsibilities - Assist Director of Student Activities and Assistant Director of Student Activities with Campus Activities Board events and logistical support.
- Assist with the development and implementation of programs and activities for welcoming and integrating students in the campus community
- Serve as the liaison between off-campus students and the Student Life Office
- Assist with organizing and planning events with the off-campus student committee
- Assist with Campus Activities Board events as it pertains to off-campus students
- Hold office hours for international students
- Collaborates with other campus departments/offices to provide support for students
- Updates the International Student Handbook
- Perform tasks necessary to maintain smooth office operations, forms and procedures, and the daily workflow.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor Degree Required
- Must be fully admitted to a Master's program at Benedictine College
- Ability to work independently
- Proficiency in MS Office Applications
- Creativity, high energy, strong work ethic, and professionalism.
COMPENSATION - Full tuition waiver (books and fees not included) with completion and approval of Tuition Benefit Form each semester.
EDUCATION - Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in related field of study.
