Job Summary:

MedStar Health is looking for an Equipment Orthopedic Technician to join our team at Washington Hospital Center!

As an Equipment Orthopedic Technician, you will deliver , assemble , adjust , maintain , and store orthopedic equipment, soft goods, and other related clinical support equipment.

Primary Duties:

• Delivers various types of orthopedic equipment , soft goods, and other various clinical support equipment to patient care areas.

• Collects, cleans, and distributes medical equipment to inpatient and surgical departments.

• Set up various types of orthopedic tractions per Physician orders ( i.e., bulks, cervical , arm and burn tractions) .

• Instruct patients on simple exercises, cast care and use of crutches, etc.

• Assist with periodic invento ry; may perform rounds to verify usage and proper functioning of equipment. Inform Lead Orthopedic Technician of any inventory shortages.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED .

• May require u p to 1 year of technical or other specialized training .

• 6 months to 1 year e xperience ( i.e., Orthopedic Technician or Equipment Assistant).
