We are looking for an Accountant to join our team in Detroit, Michigan. In this role, you will support daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial records and compliance with internal controls. Responsibilities:

• Prepare and compile detailed accounting reports to support financial decision-making.

• Analyze data to identify discrepancies and reconcile accounts efficiently.

• Assist departments with the reconciliation of daily transactions and reports.

• Maintain accurate accounting records and review daily posting activities.

• Ensure financial security by adhering to established internal control procedures.

• Summarize and present financial data to management for strategic planning.

• Uphold confidentiality standards to protect sensitive financial information.

• Manage documentation of internal transactions to ensure proper record-keeping.

• Support the accounts payable process to ensure timely and accurate payments.

• Must have Banking or Credit Union Accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is preferred BUT not required
• At least 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Proficiency in accounts payable, bank reconciliations and account reconciliations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration.
• Familiarity with accounting entries and related processes.
