Philly’s Paws & Claws is now hiring! We have a full-service pet care business. We provide dog walking, pet sitting, dog daycare/boarding, pet taxi services, and limited grooming services. We are expanding on our amazing team of pet care professionals. 

• Dog Daycare Attendant (you also will have the option to perform neighborhood dog walking (paid at a higher rate) if you have consistent access to a safe/insured vehicle).
• This role is designed to be part-time. Most staff will work 15-25 hours per week (based on client demand and availability). Additional work opportunities may be available. 
• Hours of operation (We provide dog daycare / taxi services from 8am to 7pm most days. Dog walking from 7am to 10pm most days. Pet sitting early morning and late evening.) 
• We would strongly prefer a candidate who can work Monday - Friday and possibly assist on some level, some weekends. 
• We are located in North West Philadelphia. We service West Central Germantown, Mt. Airy, Manayunk, Roxborough, East Falls, Chestnut Hill, and other nearby communities.

Compensation:

$17 / hour (Daycare staff will start at $17 per hour. You will have the option for additional earning opportunities, bonuses, commission on products, and gratuity) 

$1200 - $1900 / month (New staff will start with a shorter schedule. During busy periods, some experienced staff members gross over $1900 per month.)

The responsibilities:

Daycare Responsibilities 

• At the daycare, we clean all animal areas, including inside/outside runs, cat areas, floors, dishes, and bedding.
• As scheduled and requested, feeding the animals and providing medications. 
• We monitor pet health, check temperaments, and encourage a safe, welcoming environment. 
• After training, bathing, and light grooming, dogs visiting the daycare
• Inventory management with daycare supplies
• Assist clients and other staff with picking up and dropping off dogs at the daycare. 

Dog Walking Responsibilities (optional, requires consistent access to a safe/insured vehicle)

• We provide pet taxi services, bringing dogs to/from the daycare, the vet office, and client homes. 
• Create a safe and positive environment for our client's pets inside and outside of client homes. 
• Follow the client-provided care instructions, including training preferences.
• Give our clients first-class customer service with a personal touch.
• Communicate with staff and clients via a dedicated app on your modern smartphone.
• Practice time management to ensure all tasks and visits are performed as scheduled.

• We are looking for an honest, patient, and enthusiastic candidate who can provide our clients' dogs and cats with the highest-quality care possible.
• The candidate should have a strong understanding of safety and time management.
• Previous professional or volunteer experience with animals is preferred, but a positive attitude and a desire to learn are just as important.
• The candidate should enjoy an active work environment, working independently and as part of a team.
