Small printing company is looking for an experienced Digital Press Operator / Print Production Specialist to join our team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Digital Press Operator / Print Production Specialist will produce products to customer’s specifications in a timely manner. Attention to detail is a must and is important to be successful in this position. Digital printers, envelope printers, and large format poster printers are some of the equipment that will be used. Must have extensive knowledge of digital printing equipment and willingness to learn new equipment, software, and processes. The main goal is to provide high quality products correctly and on time.

ESSENTIAL PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Evaluates each file image for quality and color accuracy with test print before running full order.
• Follows order details for producing each product.
• Keeps Production Manager informed about job status and any issues that may arise.
• Is responsible for keeping production area clean.
• Maintains printers by performing the necessary tasks of loading and unloading media, calibrating printers, cleaning on a regular basis and performing regular maintenance as needed.
• Reads and makes sure order details are understood before printing and producing.
• Responsible for making sure products meet our customer’s exact specifications.
• Responsible for placing service calls when printers are not functioning properly.
• Responsible for updating internal workflow tracking software with due date and job status, if needed.
• Utilizes Fiery Command Work Station and other software to select the proper media, quality and color settings to produce products according to customer’s specifications.
• Performs quality assurance measures pre and post-production
• Works on different projects simultaneously
• Completes run information audit at time of production
• Occasionally answer phones and fill in for front counter

Job Qualifications:

• 2+ years Print Production experience.
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite of products including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.
• Knowledge of Fiery Command Work Station
• Able to troubleshoot technology and equipment.
• Able to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Can multitask.
• Excellent communications skills, in person, on the phone or through email.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Extensive knowledge of different print medias.
• Extreme attention to detail.
• High energy and a positive attitude.
• Highly organized.
• Self-motivated
• Takes pride in producing a high-quality product.
