Insight Global is looking for a Controller for one of our clients in the education system! This position is 5 days a week on-site in Concord, CA. The Controller will lead day-to-day accounting functions, maintain internal controls, and foster a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities: 1. Financial Management & Reporting Oversee accounting operations: A/P, A/R, payroll, and general ledger. Prepare financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual) in accordance with GAAP and donor restrictions. 2. Accounting & Compliance Maintain general ledger and prepare journal entries. Administer Blackbaud Financial Edge and integrate with Raiser’s Edge. Perform monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit standards. Prepare and file regulatory documents (e.g., tax filings, insurance applications). 3. Audit & Financial Reviews Coordinate annual audit process and prepare audit schedules. Respond to auditor inquiries and ensure timely audit completion. Maintain permanent audit and financial records. 4. Cash Management & Bank Reconciliations ~ Supervise cash receipts and bank reconciliations. 5. Fixed Assets Management Record asset acquisitions, depreciation, and disposals. Reconcile fixed assets to the general ledger. Qualifications ~ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred). ~5–7 years of accounting experience, preferably in an independent school or nonprofit. ~ Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards. ~ Proficiency in Blackbaud Financial Edge (Raiser’s Edge a plus). ~ Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Google Suite, and database management. ~ Excellent written and verbal communication skills. ~ Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
