Job Details:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to join our team. This role is critical in our organization as it provides financial leadership and coordinates company financial planning and budget management functions. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of strategic and operational financial management, coupled with strong leadership skills.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all financial operations of the company, including the development and management of budgets, preparation of financial statements, and reporting to company executives.
2. Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
3. Review monthly results and implement monthly variance reporting as compared to budget.
4. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that personnel and financial information is secure and stored in compliance with current legislation.
5. Manage the acquisition of capital assets and ensure that assets are properly recorded, amortized, and disposed of as appropriate.
6. Assist with the negotiation and financing of major projects, loans, and grants.
7. Monitor risk management policies and procedures to ensure that program and organizational risks are minimized.
8. Advise the executive team on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and policy matters.
9. Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. 5+ years of accounting and finance experience with a track record of progressively increasing responsibility.
3. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, forecasting, and treasury functions.
4. Proven strategic planning experience at the management level.
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including advanced Excel skills.
6. Experience in accounting ERP systems
7. Knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.
8. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
9. Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence, and executive presence – ability to motivate staff.
10. Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
