An established firm in Gainesville is seeking a Controller to lead core accounting functions and contribute to strategic growth initiatives. This role offers a unique blend of operational oversight and involvement in corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. This hybrid position blends traditional controllership duties with active involvement in M&A initiatives, including financial analysis, due diligence, integration planning, and post-deal reporting.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
• Establish and maintain internal controls and financial policies
• Coordinate external audits and implement recommendations
• Support financial aspects of M&A activities, including due diligence and integration
• Deliver financial insights to guide executive-level decisions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (CPA preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, including 2+ years in a leadership role
• Strong command of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Proven analytical, leadership, and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting systems
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams
