Truck Sales Representative – Commercial & Fleet

Location: Hyattsville, MD
Compensation: $60,000–$100,000+ potential (base + commission)
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking an ambitious  Truck Sales Representative to join our growing commercial dealership team. In this role, you will generate  new commercial truck and fleet vehicle sales , expand relationships with municipalities and businesses, and deliver top-notch service that keeps customers coming back.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Prospect, cold call, and network to generate  commercial vehicle and fleet sales opportunities .

  • Develop proposals that fit customer needs and budgets.

  • Negotiate and close sales contracts to meet dealership profitability and growth goals.

  • Consistently meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets for  new and used trucks .

Customer Relationship Management

  • Serve as the main point of contact for assigned commercial accounts, municipalities, and fleet operators.

  • Deliver prompt, professional service and follow up after sales to ensure satisfaction.

  • Identify repeat and referral opportunities through strong relationship-building.

Product & Industry Expertise

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of  heavy-duty trucks, medium-duty trucks, and commercial vehicle inventory .

  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitive offerings, and financing options.

  • Provide expert guidance to customers on  truck specs, configurations, and after-sales services .

Operational Support

  • Partner with finance, marketing, service, and logistics teams to ensure smooth transactions.

  • Keep all sales documentation, billing, and invoicing accurate and up to date.

  • Represent the dealership at trade shows, networking events, and community outreach activities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.

  • 3+ years of B2B sales experience (commercial truck sales, fleet sales, or dealership sales strongly preferred).

  • Proven record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • CDL experience or knowledge of commercial vehicle operations a plus.
