SDCERA administers the $19.7 billion retirement trust for over 52,000 participants, including employees of the County of San Diego and four affiliated employers. As a defined benefit pension system, SDCERA is governed by an independent nine-member Board of Retirement (plus two alternates) entrusted with fiduciary stewardship of assets, strategic vision, and policy oversight.
